Le
canyon de Bagnolar est un véritable "bijou". Le ruisseau a
creusé une profonde et secrète gorge entre le Brec d'Utelle et
la cime de l'Authion qui forment un cirque à la nature préservée.
La marche d'approche d'une heure rebute la foule des canyonistes qui se bousculent
dans les canyons à l'accès plus facile. Hélas, la baisse
du débit au cours de la belle saison et des pertes du ruisseau en milieu
de parcours tarissent le ruisseau plus en aval. Des vasques se vident, d'autres
se recouvrent de dépôts végétaux qui ne tardent pas
à pourrir. La descente est alors à proscrire. Alors qu'en bonne
condition, en tout début de saison, le canyon de Bagnolar offre de superbes
rappels, sauts et toboggans. C'est un de nos parcours préferrés.

Il n'y a pas de navette en véhicule. La marche d'approche dure environ une heure car il faut gravir 500 m de dénivellation pour atteindre l'entrée du canyon. La descente se fait en 3 à 4h. Il faut environ 1/2h pour rejoindre le parking.
Squeezed between the Brec d'Utelle and Authion summits, the Bagnolar creek offers one of the county most beautiful itinaries. The one hour walk up to the beginning of the descent drives off the canyonist crowd, more attracted to canyons with easy access. Surrounded by wild mountain slopes, the creek remains secret. Alas, the low flow rate and sinkholes in the middle of the canyon dry out the river downstream. Some pools become empty, the water surface of others are recovered with rotten plants. The descent is then not worth it. Otherwise, in good conditions, at the beginning of the season, this canyon offers superb jumps, slides and abseils. It is one of the canyons we like better. There is no car shuttle. The access walk lasts about one hour. We have to climb 500 m difference in height to get to the beginning of the descent which takes 3 to 4h. We are back to the car park in 1/2 h
